Perfactory® Desktop Digital Shell Printer

Desktop Digital Shell Printer (DDSP)

The DDSP System is a low cost, easy maintenance and user friendly decentralised Rapid Manufactoring System for Hearing Aid applications. Using state of the art Digital Light Processing (DLP®) technology from Texas Instruments®, the DDSP System can produce up to 13-15 shells/ earmolds in 2-3 hours per batch or production cycle. The DDSP System can use a variety of materials from transparent: clear, blue and red to skin colors: pink, beige, tan and mocca.

System Data Handling

Utilizing a built in Ethernet interface, the DDSP System can connect directly to a PC workstation or can be integrated in a network. The DDSP System has an embedded PC, which allows the system to work independently from the pre-processing workstation. The DDSP System can be remotely monitored from any computer on the network using the communication software integrated in the DDSP Software Suite. Any STL data format can be converted easily using the DDSP Software Suite and then imported to the DDSP System to be built.

System Properties

  • Build speed is constant through the build up to 20 mm (1") per hour at 100 um (0.004") Z-Voxel thickness.
  • Economic material use.
  • Very few moving parts and minimal consumable components.
  • Minimized components make the system user serviceable.

"The Perfactory® System has made a huge improvement in our manufacturing by reducing labor and improving quality in our Hearing Aid production. Our production managers love the fact that the machine builds fast and is easy to setup while occupying a minimum of shop floor space.
In addition, operator training is simple and newly installed machines are up and running the same day they are delivered. However, it is not just the production department that enjoys these benefits. Since we started using the Perfactory® for product design and development it has reduced our design times and improved the overall new release quality of our products", Russ Schreiner, GN ReSound Corporation, USA.

"We have run without hardly any problems for almost two years straight a definite sign of a great product", Kevin A., Senior RD&E Engineer, Major graduation ring manufacturer, USA.

“The castings in gold came out beautiful from the new waxy resin WIC100G”, Zsombor Antal, Best Cast, USA.

“The part production and quality on the PerfactoryXede® Rapid Prototyping system is way faster and better than any other RP system we have used in the past for making our automotive parts”, Richard Wooldridge, RP Supervisor, Ford Motor Company, Dunton, UK.

Phonak has successfully employed the EnvisionTec Perfactory technology to produce 98% of their hearing aid shells globally. "We are extremely satisfied with the reliability and throughput of the Perfactory System." Nik Schulz, Teamleader, Phonak Custom Products.

The perfactory machine has been an invaluable tool for us at Visteon Corporation. When we look to make a low volume prototype production, the surface quality and the accuracy of the parts produced on the Perfactory coupled with their durability makes the parts useable in functional testing.” Jim Carlisle, Core Mechanical Engineer, Visteon Corporation.

"Everything is going very well with the machine. Since we purchased the machine we have made over 4,600 parts. This far exceeds our expectations for the laboratory in general Engineering has really come to enjoy the machine, prepping samples for customer design reviews, in vehicle trials and other things that we were never able to even consider prior to its purchase. Our consumer products group has even used the prototypes for limited consumer trials instead of soft tooling." Alan Romack, Senior Project Engineer, Bowles Fluidics.

"The Perfactory MINI is running great! Such nice resolution!" David Crisp, Chief designer, Maui Divers.
