Release of the the New Benchmark in 3-Dimensional Printing: The "ULTRA"

May 6, 2009 - Ferndale, MI - Designed to outperform existing 3-dimensional printing products in Build speed, surface quality, and material choices, the ULTRA will be unveiled at RAPID 2009 in Schaumburg, Illinois on MAY 12, 2009.

Based on its proven based Digital light projection technology, the ULTRA will raise the bar in Performance for 3 Dimensional desktop printers. The larger build envelope at 10" x 7.5" x 8" will make it very attractive at the price point offered for mechanical designers with limited budgets.

  • X & Y resolution 80 microns with ERM module(0.0032 in)
  • Z-resolution adjustable from to 20 to 100 microns (0.0007 to 0.004 in)
  • Build speed 0.5 in/hr (12.7 mm) at 100 microns  Voxel depth for the full build envelope
  • Wide material choice, from ABS- and polypropylene-like to wax-based materials for investment casting
  • Extremely smooth surface finishes
  • Office-friendly, low power requirements and plug and play operation
  • Built with proven high-reliability DLP technology

"The New Ultra redefines 3-dimensional desktop printing by delivering high resolution parts without sacrificing build speed, and without limiting the choice of build materials. The Ultra is engineered for extreme performance and reliability at a very competitive price point," said Mr. Siblani, CEO of EnvisionTEC Gmbh.

Full integration between 3Shape Dental System and EnvisionTec Printers

3Shape A/S, a worldwide leader in Dental 3D scanning and CAD software solutions, has entered a collaborative partnership with EnvisionTec. As a first result 3Shape and EnvisionTec has launched a new highly automated interface enabling seamless integration between the standard 3Shape Dental System and EnvisionTec Printers.

“We are very pleased with the integration between the 3Shape scanners and EnvisionTec printers making 3Shape customers able to seamlessly print high quality wax patterns and virtual generated models created in the 3Shape software. Our customers are very excited by this opportunity. ” Says Rune Fisker, VP Product Strategy, 3Shape.

“With the launch of the powerful 3Shape D700 impression scanner applying unique 2-camera and adaptive scanning technology dental laboratories are directly able to scan the impression and virtually create models - reducing cost and turnaround time. EnvisionTec Xede and Xtreme is a attractive printer for 3Shape customers to manufacture virtually generated models. In general model printing is likely to become one of the core technologies in the future digital dental laboratories.” adds Rune Fisker

“We are very excited about the fully automated integration between the 3Shape software and scanners and the EnvisionTec wax and model digital printers. The knowledge learned through the successful integration of both technologies in the hearing aid market will certainly allow a faster and a more successful implementation of the digital dental highway for all dental labs world wide “says Alexander Shkolnik , CTO, EnvisionTec.

The interface exists as a stl file interface or fully integrated into 3Shape CAMbridge® enabling fully automated production. Existing and new 3Shape Scanner users should contact their Supplier of the 3Shape system which can confirm if the EnvisionTec interface is available for their particular version of the 3Shape system and conditions for same.

"The Perfactory® System has made a huge improvement in our manufacturing by reducing labor and improving quality in our Hearing Aid production. Our production managers love the fact that the machine builds fast and is easy to setup while occupying a minimum of shop floor space.
In addition, operator training is simple and newly installed machines are up and running the same day they are delivered. However, it is not just the production department that enjoys these benefits. Since we started using the Perfactory® for product design and development it has reduced our design times and improved the overall new release quality of our products", Russ Schreiner, GN ReSound Corporation, USA.

"We have run without hardly any problems for almost two years straight a definite sign of a great product", Kevin A., Senior RD&E Engineer, Major graduation ring manufacturer, USA.

“The castings in gold came out beautiful from the new waxy resin WIC100G”, Zsombor Antal, Best Cast, USA.

“The part production and quality on the PerfactoryXede® Rapid Prototyping system is way faster and better than any other RP system we have used in the past for making our automotive parts”, Richard Wooldridge, RP Supervisor, Ford Motor Company, Dunton, UK.

Phonak has successfully employed the EnvisionTec Perfactory technology to produce 98% of their hearing aid shells globally. "We are extremely satisfied with the reliability and throughput of the Perfactory System." Nik Schulz, Teamleader, Phonak Custom Products.

The perfactory machine has been an invaluable tool for us at Visteon Corporation. When we look to make a low volume prototype production, the surface quality and the accuracy of the parts produced on the Perfactory coupled with their durability makes the parts useable in functional testing.” Jim Carlisle, Core Mechanical Engineer, Visteon Corporation.

"Everything is going very well with the machine. Since we purchased the machine we have made over 4,600 parts. This far exceeds our expectations for the laboratory in general Engineering has really come to enjoy the machine, prepping samples for customer design reviews, in vehicle trials and other things that we were never able to even consider prior to its purchase. Our consumer products group has even used the prototypes for limited consumer trials instead of soft tooling." Alan Romack, Senior Project Engineer, Bowles Fluidics.

"The Perfactory MINI is running great! Such nice resolution!" David Crisp, Chief designer, Maui Divers.
